Re: Midriff Cover?
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 4:01 AMProbably so, especially if I am wearing powernet cover and I have to be pinned in not only to my bra, but to my straps of the my bra, the sides and around my belly so things won't slip at all. I finish getting dressed when the other dancers and I meet before a performance. -

Re: Midriff Cover?
Yesterday, 5:03 AMShort answer is yes! Traditional ones are attaached by hook and eye (yes, you need to sew them on both the cover and the bra) all around the bra. They're great for a show where there are lots of folk, not great for solos.
There are covers made that have full shoulders, or backs. Mira makes some that have tank straps that can be hidden, but I have trouble with it sliding away from my bra: maybe stronger elastic in the top? -

Re: Midriff Cover?
Yesterday, 7:40 AMSome covers I've seen in pictures of Egyptian danccers don't attach in the back--rather, they only connect to the bra in front, and then they're cut down low in back. I'd imagine that would be a cinch to get into on your own. Otherwise, I guess it would depend upon how flexible you are--if you put the back hooks and eyes where you could reach around back and do it yourself...

Re: Midriff Cover?
Yesterday, 7:56 AMDepends what kind you are using. I don't use the midriff-only kind -- I generally go for bodystockings (the kind you get at your local adult novelty store) that I cut the legs off of. Some have full sleeves & some are spaghetti-strap (which usually have enough elastic in them that I can pull the top edge to just below my bra, but still wear the straps up on my shoulders). I like these *because* I don't have to attach them to a costume - they stay up fine on their own. -

Re: Midriff Cover?
Yesterday, 2:43 PMThat is an excellent idea. I didn't think about the ones with spaghetti straps. I'll have to get one of those next! -

Re: Midriff Cover?
Today, 12:51 PMYeah, I wish I had a pic of me in one to share...they're really cute. This is my favorite one as of late: www.mydivascloset.com/secrnetbo.html
And what's great is that once you cut the legs off, it takes the size thing out of the question - so you don't have to pay attention the weight/size limit -- it'll fit you, no matter your size (I weigh almost 100 lbs over their "one-size-fits-all limit" and they fit me just fine).

Re: Midriff Cover?
Today, 2:42 PMI use detatchable bra straps to hold mine up. I just run the metal hook on the strap thru the mesh a couple of times (starting in the back) put the cover on, and hook the straps in the front. Of course, I always wear a vest with my bras and don't have to worry about the extra straps showing.
